Natalie Bernys, PA, is a board-certified physician assistant on the team of dedicated providers at Virginia Family Medicine. She works with patients in all three of the practice’s locations in Fairfax and Vienna, Virginia.
Natalie graduated with a Bachelor of Science in human biology from Lyman Briggs College at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. She earned her Master of Science as a physician assistant from the University of Detroit Mercy in Detroit, where she also served as class president. She holds a certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
In her work at Virginia Family Medicine, Natalie specializes in diabetes, hypertension, and women’s health. She has extensive experience providing exceptional primary care services in both family practice and internal medicine settings and enjoys developing meaningful relationships with her patients. She is a strong advocate for preventive healthcare and works with her patients to help them develop and maintain healthy lifestyles.
Prior to joining the team at Virginia Family Medicine, Natalie worked as a sign language interpreter in Michigan, where she specialized in medical and higher-education settings. She’s fluent in American Sign Language and provides deaf patients at Virginia Family Medicine with personalized care that sidesteps the miscommunication and confidentiality issues that can arise when using an interpreter who’s not a part of the Virginia Family Medicine team.
Natalie was born and raised in southeastern Michigan and currently lives in Oak Hill with her husband and their two sons. When she’s not working, she likes spending time with her family, traveling, and exploring culinary and wine creations.
